Auf Wiedersehen!!

Another great trip comes to an end!

Today we had our Goodbyes.  The school hosted a goodbye breakfast where Claudia and Mrs. Wagoner gave positive and encouraging words about the importance of culture exchanges. Tony Razo who created our travel shirts presented them to the Principal, Vice Principal, Heidi and Claudia at the school for a good bye breakfast.

We also had our Goobye BBQ with the host families and students.  It was held near the Nidda River in a beautiful open field where families brought different dishes.  Our students presented their host families with hand made thank you cards, showering them with gratitude for the excellent time they've spent together.  It was filled with laughter, reflections and goodbyes.

The History of Berlin

Berlin's history is very complex.  Out students had the pleasure to walk around this beautiful city while admiring and listening to the enriching history.  Check out the video of our students discussing their new found perspectives on Berlin.

What did we do last weekend?

-->
Josie went to Eiserner Bridge with Justin--placed a love lock, and to Köperwelten Museum to see bodies without skin!

Zinni found a toy of himself on Safari, in K-Town (Kaiserslautern).

Marie went with her family to Fulda, a small, pretty town with lots of history and character.  She is learning lots about architecture and religious practices.

Shawn K went to Worms and Darmstadt.  In Worms, he visited a midieval villiage, and astronomical clock, and a cathedral.  Darmstadt has this area where artists were allowed to build whatever they wanted in the late 1800s/early 1900s.  It was all absolutely  gorgeous.

Hara went to Cologne to the cathedral—so beautifully detailed and really big.

Shawn G went looking for gelato and found this instead…

Cecilia wend to Berg Königstein and saw what entertainment was like in the middle ages.  There is nowhere more authentic for a Renaissance Fair!

-->

Autumn spent some time in the world famous Kiran’s Garden, ith both Germans and Americans, sitting in the grass and enjoying each other’s company.

Avery says:  The sky is always different, the people are always changing, a new street you haven't walked down before always pops up, but the beauty of Germany will always stay the same.

Justin spent some time in Vogelsberg enjoying the flower fields with lots of wildlife.  A true summer house stay with time in the sauna and barbequing.

Sophia rode around Frankfurt at night.  She writes that it was a really cool way to see the city, and the city lights made it really pretty.  It's awesome the city is mixed with older and newer looking buildings.

Tony walked 3 miles up a mountain north of Frankfurt.  Here you see a really sad David as he struggles to enjoy the sounds of birds and wind flowing through the trees.  We got to the top and he was happy again.  Good Times!

Madelyn went to a family BBQ in Kassel with Kiran's family.  She spent all night listening to them playing guitar and singing.  She felt like she was in a movie with a very happy family.

Cyrus also went to Kiran's Oma's place.  She has a beautiful house and much like American grandmothers, she feeds everyone too much.  He enjoyed seeing the countryside and exploring a German village with more stry cats than he could count.

Eliana went with her family )and ShawnG) to Seligenstadt, where they walked around, took a 4 hour boat ride and sis a lot of sight seeing!  There was also a nice hive of bees we walked by !! She stopped in at a cemetary which was so cool and interesting. She also went to a healing herb garden which was so incredible for her because herbology and naturopathy is what she wants to pursue and her mom is into that stuff, too.  They ate amazing food! And on the boat ride back to Frankfurt got to see the skyline

 Lauren went to Luxembourg, and she observed both the old and modern pieces in town, she came to the realization hat she learns the most while traveling.

Mitch went to a Roman castle outside of Frankfurt, which is located in a forest!!

Jeremiah went downtown and had the best ice cream of his life!  He says every time he tries something that he likes in the states, his German version tastes way better.

Ian went to a four story climbing hall with a two story free clim area and two slack lines.  What's not to like?
