It's time to connect with our German friends in Frankfurt. A group of 13 students and 2 chaperones will depart for Deutschland on May 1st, leaving NELA at 4:30am. We will arrive May 2nd, and be picked up by our respective hosts.
On May 3, we will meet in the morning at Ernst Reuter Schule II, and be greeted by the new principal.
On May 4, there is a great downtown event called Night of the Museums, and we are likely to see each other there. We will spend the weekend with our families.
May 6-8, we will meet at school for our regular group meetings each day.
May 9-12 is a school holiday, and we will spend the time with our families. On one of these days, we will meet at the Fun Forest, a climbing course unlike any our kids have seen. There are courses for all levels of comfort with heights and fitness.
On May 13, we will meet at school at 7:30am. We will travel together to the main train station and depart for Berlin. We will spend 3 days/2nights in Berlin, staying at the Pegasus Hostel. We have jam-packed days of history, architecture, monuments, and street art to see. We will return late on May 15, and be picked up by our families.
On May 16, we will go to the City Hall, to be welcomed by the mayor.
May 17, students will visit 5th grade classrooms at Ernst Reuter.
May 18-20, we will spend time with our families. We will have a goodbye BBQ in the park on the 20th.
May 21, we depart for home. We arrive in Phoenix around 4pm.
