First Impressions

Over a thousand years of German Emperors at the City Hall
Today, we met as a group to go downtown to the City Hall (The Roemer), where they flew the American flag just for us. Pretty cool. the weather is not as dismal as it seems in this picture.
It was nice to be together as a group. For me to see everyone healthy and well taken care of, and for the kids to hear rapid English with their friends, and compare the wildly varying experiences that homestays bring.
We had a great tour guide who told us interesting stories spanning the lives of those from the 8th century to the 18th century. When I talked to the adult Germans afterward, they had learned new things, too. Definitely my favorite Roemer experience.
The question here is: who is the Emperor and who is the traveler?

Where we stay, part 2

Wilkommen (Welcome) to Frankfurt!
After a night of rest (maybe fitful?), we are establishing ourselves. Here are some snippets of first impressions.
Marie: Very green & bright! My host family are very sweet and are already making me feel at home!
Shawn K: My German family has been very warm and friendly. We spent plenty of time talking about various things, and ate good food.
Avery: Everything is so soft and delicate! My host family is already taking incredible care of me--after unpacking, my host family showed me a movie and ate lots of gummy bears!!

Kicking off Deutschland Austausch 2018!
Here we are again, on the edge of embarking on the 5th trip Northpoint takes to Germany and the 10th leg of the exchange with Ernst Reuter Schule II.
